WhatsApp message templates
A brand's messages to its members go out on eight pre-approved WhatsApp templates: seven Utility, one Authentication. Each is filled by position, and two rules decide whether a send works at all.
The seven Utility templates #
| Template | Sent when | Variables, in order |
|---|---|---|
avra_reward_credit | A reward lands in a member's wallet. | brand · reward · new balance · wallet link · partner |
avra_reward_held | A claim is held for review instead of credited. | brand · reward · partner |
avra_voucher_ready | A redemption is fulfilled and a voucher is waiting. | brand · voucher value · wallet link · partner |
avra_points_expiring | Points are about to expire. | brand · points · expiry date · wallet link · partner |
avra_program_end | A brand's programme is closing. | brand · end date · wallet link · partner |
avra_payout_paid | Cashback reached the member's UPI. | brand · amount · bank reference · wallet link · partner |
avra_payout_failed | Cashback could not be sent. | brand · reason · wallet link (three only — do not add a fourth) |
The Authentication template #
avra_otp signs a member in. Meta writes its body; you choose Copy code delivery and a 5-minute expiry, which matches the platform's OTP expiry. The OTP is sent by the API inside the request, not through the worker queue.
What a message costs #
WhatsApp messages are billed at cost, at Meta's published India rate, with no markup.
