Every verdict a scan can return
A scan answers in one word, and every word is evidence of a specific, stated fact. This is the list, with what each one means and what your care desk should say to the person holding the phone.

What GENUINE actually means #
When the verdict page says GENUINE, it is asserting four things and nothing more:
- This code was generated by AVRA for this brand, and is not a string that happens to look like one.
- Its batch was activated by a person after printing QC. Before that moment this code answered We can't verify this code.
- This verification is within the batch's verification limit — the label has not already been claimed by someone else.
- Nobody has blocked the batch since.
It is not asserting that the object in the buyer's hand is the one the label was stuck to, or that the pack has not been opened. No QR code can assert either. Those are jobs for the pack — see what each format can carry.
A second scan is amber, never red #
SCANNED BEFORE is shown in amber with the arithmetic — which verification this is, of how many, and the date of the first — and never as a fake. A real buyer re-opening a page, a resold pack and an opened pack all look like this, and accusing a real buyer is the most expensive mistake this product can make. The counterfeit signal is the pattern — one code claimed from three or more networks in a week — and it goes to your dashboard, not to the buyer's screen.
We can't verify this code #
An unknown code and a code whose batch was never activated read the same, on purpose. The screen blames the record, not the reader: it asks them to check the code against the label and, if it was copied correctly, to say where they bought it. A genuine unit whose activation was never recorded is sometimes our own error, and the person holding the phone is not the suspect.
