How it works · For anyone evaluating AVRA

How it works

Three steps, from the press to the shopper's phone.

1. Print a code on every pack #

AVRA makes a batch of unique codes for one product. Your label partner prints them on the label, carton or hologram you already use. A code is one credit; a pack of credits is bought up front.

2. Switch the batch on #

Every code is born dead: a printed code answers nothing until the run has passed its check and the batch is switched on. From that day every code verifies for three years. A stolen print file or a press overrun verifies nothing.

3. Anyone checks it with a phone #

The shopper points the phone camera at the code. A page opens with the brand's name and one answer. Every scan lands on the brand's dashboard, and a code seen where it should not be raises an alert.

One pack, two codes

A QR can be copied. The claim cannot.

One pack carries two codes. The visible shelf code, scanned before purchase, answers VALID and claims nothing. The hidden code is reachable only after purchase, answers GENUINE and claims the unit once. A photographed and reprinted shelf code answers SCANNED BEFORE.

  1. Shelf code, before purchase

Anyone can scan it. It claims nothing.

    Valid
  2. Hidden code, after opening

Scratch panel, cap seal, carton flap or pouch web. It claims the unit, once.

    Genuine
  3. A photographed, reprinted label

The copy carries only code 1, and that code has been seen already.

    Scanned before
