Solutions · Wires & cables

The electrician chooses the coil, the householder never sees the box, and a fake coil is found when a wall is opened years later.

The retailer checks the shelf code, the electrician scratches the hidden one and gets paid, and the same scan registers the warranty.

The trade that scans here: electricians, contractors.

What a fake costs you here

  • 31% of consumer electronics perceived as counterfeit; recorded incidents concentrate in “mobile accessories and housing wire segments”.

  • 34% of buyers check a QR or serial — the second-highest of any sector surveyed.

Who scans, in order

The people who handle it: electrician, wireman, contractor, retailer, dealer.

The regulation

None specific. No QR mandate for wires or electricals. BIS marking applies to the product, not to a code.

A label on the coil box or the printed carton: shelf QR outside, scratch code under a panel. Warranty on the same SKU family, on its own runs. Coil boxes are usually corrugated — print the shelf code at 18–20 mm on a white-lined panel or apply a pressure-sensitive label, and get the tamper-evidence from the box seal, not from the board.

What each substrate can carry, and where a format cannot hide a second code: the substrate table.

How it runs

AVRA Rewards and AVRA Warranty together — the one industry where all four lines have an obvious job.

AVRA Rewards: Channel Incentives.

The electrician decides which coil goes into the wall, and brands already spend crores on schemes that pay the wrong person a quarter late. AVRA Rewards pays per unit, to the person holding it. The reward sits behind a second factor the buyer had to physically reach — a scratch code under foil, or a second QR inside the pack — so it cannot be claimed off a shelf. One phone is one identity across every brand on the platform; a wallet is per brand. Campaigns carry their own rate, window and budget, and the budget is checked under a lock at the moment of claim. Payouts run on the brand’s own Razorpay X or Cashfree account, so AVRA never holds the brand’s reward money.

How AVRA Rewards works →

AVRA Warranty: Purchase Registration.

Paper warranty cards come back from almost nobody, so a brand sells lakhs of units and knows no buyer’s name. AVRA Warranty replaces the card with the scan that was already happening. The buyer scans the label, verifies a phone number over WhatsApp OTP, answers three questions — purchase date, shop name, shop pincode — and the registration is bound to that unit’s code, which is also its serial. The term comes from the product, not the print run, and the expiry date is computed once and frozen, so a brand that shortens its term next year has not shortened this buyer’s. The brand gets a searchable warranty book: type the serial off the product while the customer is on the line and the answer is one row.

The objection you have

“Our electrician scheme runs through the distributor. Why disintermediate him?”

You are not. The distributor's margin does not move. What moves is who gets the credit for the coil that actually went into the wall, and whether you find out about it this week or next quarter.

Where to start

Regional and mid-size brands. The largest brands already run programmes of their own; the regional ones mostly do not.

It is normal here

Polycab Experts (5 lakh+), KEI Connect — “Retailers can scan the QR Code on the sticker placed on box whereas electricians can either scan QR code or send SMS of scratch code”, which is the dual-code idea in a competitor's own words — V-Guard Rishta, RR Connect (10 lakh+), Orient Connect, Havells EPLUS (10 lakh+), Finolex, Anchor, Crompton SAATHI, Luminous mPartner.

What every industry asks first

Will my printer have to change anything?
No new press and no new software on the line. The code is one more element in the artwork your printer already runs — on a label, a carton, a pouch or a sleeve. The one requirement is a matte, light area under the code, because a phone camera cannot read through a glare.
Does the buyer need an app?
No. A plain phone camera opens the verdict page; there is nothing to install and no login. A reward claim or a warranty registration happens in the same browser, with a phone number and a one-time code.
Do we have to change our packaging?
No. The code goes into what you already buy, printed by the supplier who already prints it. Where the pack can hide a second code — under a scratch panel, a cap seal, a carton flap or the inside of a pouch — it runs Dual Code; where it cannot, it runs single mode, and we say which.
How long until it is live?
Your printer's account and first credits on day one, your brand and product the same day, a test batch of 200 on day two — then your press schedule. A batch goes live the day it passes QC and is activated, so the slowest step is the press, not the software.

Print one batch and scan it yourself.

The fastest way to judge this is a sheet of real labels and a phone.

Trust, made visible.
